About Gary
For more than twenty-five years, Gary Fyles has dedicated his career to understanding one fundamental question: How can people learn more effectively, think more clearly and perform with greater confidence?
From classrooms and curriculum design to leadership development, publishing and cognitive acceleration, Gary's work has consistently focused on helping individuals develop their thinking and capabilities through better learning.
Today, those experiences form the foundation of the ThinkingBigger Learning Architecture Framework.
A Journey Shaped by Learning
Rather than beginning with publishing or business, Gary's story begins in the classroom.
As a science teacher working in high-performing schools in both the United Kingdom and Asia, Gary became fascinated not simply by what pupils learned, but by how they learned.
This curiosity led him to explore the fields of accelerated cognition, metacognition, neuroscience, growth mindset and independent learning, seeking practical ways to help learners become more confident, reflective and capable thinkers.
Throughout his career, Gary has remained driven by a simple belief: Learning is not simply the acquisition of knowledge. It is the development of better thinking.
Developing Expertise
Over the course of his career, Gary has worked with and contributed to a wide range of educational initiatives focused on thinking, reasoning and learning.
His experience includes involvement with:
- Cognitive Acceleration through Science Education (CASE)
- Cognitive Acceleration through Mathematics Education (CAME)
- Let's Think in English (LTE)
- Cambridge nRich
- Philosophy for Children (P4C)
- Growth Mindset
- Metacognition
- Independent Learning
- Curriculum Design
He later became a Council Member of Let's Think and a Trustee of Potential Trust, continuing his commitment to advancing evidence-informed approaches to learning.
Rather than viewing these as separate disciplines, Gary has spent decades exploring how they connect to create deeper, more effective learning experiences.
Beyond Education
Today, Gary's work extends beyond traditional educational settings.
Through ThinkingBigger, BrainyBudz CIC and his work in leadership development, he continues to apply the principles of the framework across a range of environments, including:
- Education
- Leadership
- Professional Development
- Neurodiversity
- Publishing
- Organisational Learning
- Elite Performance
His belief remains the same: Better learning creates better thinking. Better thinking creates better performance.
Looking Ahead
The challenges facing organisations continue to evolve.
Technology is changing how people work.
Knowledge is expanding faster than ever.
Decision-making is becoming increasingly complex.
Gary believes the organisations that thrive will be those that invest not only in knowledge, but in understanding how people learn, think and adapt.
The ThinkingBigger Learning Architecture Framework represents an ongoing commitment to exploring these questions and helping individuals, teams and organisations build the thinking capabilities needed for the future.
The Evolution of an Idea
The ThinkingBigger Learning Architecture Framework was not developed overnight. It emerged through more than twenty-five years of teaching, curriculum design, research, publishing and leadership, with each stage contributing new insights into how people learn, think and perform.
Foundations in Education
Science Teacher in the UK
Gary began his career as a science teacher, where his interest quickly extended beyond teaching subject knowledge. He became fascinated by how learners develop understanding, solve problems and build confidence through the learning process itself.

International Education
Curriculum Design & Teaching in Asia
Working in international schools provided opportunities to design curricula, collaborate with educational specialists and further explore how cognitive science, independent learning and metacognition could be embedded into everyday teaching practice.

Cognitive Acceleration
CASE • CAME • LTE • Thinking Skills
Gary's work deepened through his involvement with internationally recognised programmes in accelerated cognition and metacognition, including CASE, CAME and LTE. These experiences reinforced the importance of structured dialogue, reasoning and reflective thinking in helping learners develop lasting understanding.

Publishing & ThinkingBigger
Author • Publisher • Educational Innovation
Encouraged by his students to share his ideas more widely, Gary began writing the Think Big Playroom series. What started as a single book soon evolved into ThinkingBigger, bringing together publishing, workshops and educational resources designed to inspire curiosity, resilience and lifelong learning.

Leadership & Social Impact
Leadership Development • BrainyBudz CIC • Let's Think Council
As Gary's work expanded beyond schools, he began applying the same learning principles within leadership development, professional coaching and community initiatives. Through BrainyBudz CIC, his work now supports neurodivergent young people and adults, while his role on the Let's Think Council continues his contribution to evidence-informed approaches to learning.

Today
The ThinkingBigger Learning Architecture Framework
Today, these experiences come together within the ThinkingBigger Learning Architecture Framework, a practical methodology that integrates decades of educational practice with principles drawn from accelerated learning, cognitive science and metacognition. The framework is designed to help individuals, teams and organisations learn more effectively, think more clearly and perform with greater confidence across education, leadership, professional development and elite performance.
